I seldom run across the word "turbulence" - I just happen to be sitting on an airplane right now & some turbulence is being predicted in our flight a bit down the road (as it were).
Of course, turbulence while flying in a plane is not fun at all. Atoll, atoll, atoll. 🙂🙂
But.
The world has been a pretty darn turbulent place these past 4 years ... has it not??
& all the insanity we HBs (human beings) have wrought upon Planet Earth lo, these many thousands of years, feels as though it could be heading for some kind of spectacular apocalypse or crescendo or crack-up - or at least that's the way it feels to me.
Well, to a lot of us, I think.
Yeesh!
🙁 🙁 🙁
I share this graphic often-ish lately, 'cos it seems so helpful.
We really do have to remind ourselves - often-often-often - to be in THIS moment.
Since we sure can't live in any other!!
Here's another helpful insight.
It's the resistance to suffering that really causes our suffering.
Sometimes we can just say
"Whoa, I'm really afraid of ... bleah bleah bleah,” whatever it is…
or
"Geez, I feel really miserable right now."
& somehow, just acknowledging it (out loud, even!) seems to magically lighten the load/mood.
So...
Turbulence ahead?
Yeah.
Very likely.
Meanwhile... here I am.
Now.
I think I'll just
#Be.Here.Now
Instead of going all tight & hunchy
& feeling miserable.
If nasty shit is gonna happen, guess what?
I'll deal with it.
In THAT moment.
Meanwhile, I am able to sit pretty peacefully with a bit of discomfort in THIS moment.
Ahhhhhh.
I feel better now.
Calmer...
J.
p.s. this quote can be helpful.
“I have learned to live each day as it comes, and not to borrow trouble by dreading tomorrow. It is the dark menace of the future that makes cowards of us.” – Dorothy Dix
p.p.s. Courage! It’s important. There are some great quotations about courage here.
p.p.p.s. Here is one of my very favourite pieces of music, ever. (You’re welcome!!)
